Pot of Gold
After the rain yesterday I saw the sun start to shine. I ran up to the roof so fast and what I saw was breathtaking. The end of the rainbow!!

Beautiful Brooklyn Weekend
What a great weekend to be in Brooklyn! The farmers market had amazing vegetables. An art show in DUMBO was a fun night out. Then, I spent the morning walking Atlantic Avenue for the annual street festival. So nice to be outside and it was great weather!
I also went to Sahadi's on Atlantic Avenue. I have been meaning to try it for quite some time because I've heard great things. I was actually mad at myself after leaving the shop for living in Brooklyn for over 2 years and never going here. It is my new favorite place! They have a great selection of cheeses, nuts, coffee, spices and so much more!! It doesn't hurt that my favorite kitchen store is on the same block! You know where you can find me on Saturday afternoons.
With the possibility of moving out of the city in June (where I have called home for the last 6 years) I am really trying to take advantage of the things I can only do in NY. For the last couple of years the city has been a place I am tempted to leave but it always pulls me back in. I know I'm not here forever, I miss the country too much, but now that leaving has become a reality I'm getting quite sad. It's so easy to be consumed with the day-to-day that I forget what this amazing place has to offer. So, here's to raising my glass to 're'-finding my city...
Checked off the list:
Bushwick, Brooklyn (albeit for a Jonathan Adler warehouse sale, but still...)

A Fall Weekend In The Country
Apple picking is my favorite way to welcome the Fall season. It's refreshing to feel the cool air with the smell of apples, ahhhh. In fact, I love it so much that every time I go I suddenly have more apples than I can carry, but, really, that's just the way I like it. There is a long list of things I like to make: pie, crisp, sauce, muffins, cookies....all of which leave my kitchen smelling delicious! This year I want to try apple chips, something I have never done. Now if I can get to this before they are all gone...
